Evidence Writing: Teach, Respond and Revise

Browse free resources

A bounded Grade 6 writing collection connecting L07 paragraph teaching and L08 revision with unused checks and concrete response tasks.

C07 v1.0.0 connects accepted L07 v0.1.2 and L08 v0.1.4 with new G6W01 v1.0.0. This is a supplemental evidence-writing and meaning-preserving revision sequence, not a full Grade 6 writing curriculum. Every file is free; no account, email address, payment or learning platform is required.

Where to start

  1. Supported paragraph writing: use L07’s models, planner and writing tasks when claim, relevant evidence or explanation needs teaching.
  2. Clarity and coherence: use L08’s models and revision tasks when the intended meaning needs a clearer path for readers. Preserve stated facts and results.
  3. After teaching: use G6W01’s unused writing/revision check, concrete response routes and reserved follow-ups. Share only the selected student file and retain teacher keys and future stimuli.

Complete classroom package

Download C07 v1.0.0 classroom ZIP — all new student/teacher PDF, editable Word and HTML files plus the nine exact original L07/L08 downloads, including L07’s PowerPoint. Start with README and the teacher-only Start Here guide.

The archive contains teacher keys and reserved stimuli. Keep it with the teacher and share only selected student files. Original lessons, their practiced texts and downloads remain unchanged. L07 has teaching slides; no L08 slides are included or claimed.

Use evidence to choose a response

Review supported writing separately from meaning-preserving revision. An accurate but poorly explained paragraph needs a different response from a clear paragraph with unsupported claims. Clarify access or unclear responses before choosing a task. Used texts are practice. A short check does not establish validated mastery, diagnosis, ranking or equivalent performance across passages.

Fit, sources and review

AI-authored and independently AI-reviewed within the recorded version and scope. Classroom effectiveness, grade fit and timing have not been established. Brief responses support tentative local teaching moves; they are not diagnostic scores, placement decisions or validated equivalent forms. New passages, drafts and instructional wording are original fictional examples. Teachers may print and adapt these materials for classroom use under the site’s Terms of Use; retain attribution and identify local changes. The site does not collect student responses. Terms of Use.

L07/L08 retain their accepted versions and review records. The new response cycle has separate independent reviews. Native Word structure and text are checked; application rendering, assistive-technology conformance and classroom outcomes remain unverified.
