Argumentation: Teach, Respond and Reconsider

Browse free resources

Connect accepted L09/L10 argumentation lessons to unused checks, concrete response tasks and reserved follow-ups.

C08 v1.0.0 connects accepted L09 v0.1.2 and L10 v0.1.7 with new G6A01 v1.0.0. This is a supplemental argumentation sequence, not a full Grade 6 writing curriculum. Every file is free; no account, email address, payment or learning platform is required.

Where to start

  1. Roles and relevance: use L09’s models, organizer and argument tasks when claim, reason, evidence or relevance needs teaching. Judge a statement’s role in its surrounding argument.
  2. Fair counterargument response: use L10’s models, frame and rubric when a reply misstates a concern or does not address it. Learners can accept, qualify or oppose a proposal with sound reasoning.
  3. After teaching: use G6A01’s unused checks, concrete response routes and reserved follow-ups. Share only the selected student file and retain teacher keys and future stimuli.

Use evidence to choose a response

Review argument roles and relevance separately from fair response. A learner may classify a claim accurately while disagreeing with it. A reply may fairly accept a concern while preserving a different position. Clarify access or unclear responses before choosing a task. Used texts are practice. A short check does not establish mastery, diagnosis, ranking or equivalent performance across arguments.

Fit, sources and review

AI-authored and independently AI-reviewed within the recorded version and scope. Classroom effectiveness, grade fit and timing have not been established. Short responses support tentative local teaching moves; they are not diagnostic scores, placement decisions or validated equivalent forms. New arguments and exchanges are original fictional instructional examples. Any counts are invented examples, not research or reported classroom results. Teachers may print and adapt the materials for classroom use under the site’s Terms of Use; retain attribution and identify local changes. The site does not collect student responses. Terms of Use.

L09/L10 retain their accepted versions and review records. The new response cycle has separate independent reviews. Native Word structure and text are checked; application rendering, assistive-technology conformance and classroom outcomes remain unverified.
