Compare the curtain accounts
Invented accounts of the same rehearsal. A — Priya: From backstage, I pulled the curtain closed before the music began. Then I checked a knot in the curtain rope. The audience could not see the stage when the first note sounded. After the music ended, Owen and I carried chairs. B — Owen: From my seat facing the stage, I saw the curtain stay fully open through the first note. I watched the performers form a row. After the music ended, I helped Priya carry chairs. I did not inspect the curtain rope.
Work independently. Identify two shared details, one detail or focus unique to each account, and how each stated position shapes the focus. Quote or paraphrase the exact statements that contradict each other about the same moment. Explain why the rope difference is not a contradiction. Name one thing the pair cannot establish. Use only these accounts; do not decide which observer is truthful from detail alone.
